Phil Lambert is a leader, an innovator and problem solver

Early in his career, as an IT Helpdesk Manager, Phil understood the importance of mission critical operations and how they can impact a company. What changed his life and paved the way for his future was asking the question, “What if?” It was then he realized how adversely impacted his organization would be in the event of an unexpected disaster. The countless “what if” scenarios clamored for his attention and inspired him to create a “back up” plan. This program was so comprehensive and thorough that it addressed any event from fire to flooding, from sabotage to systems failure.  This was Phil’s debut in the business continuity and contingency planning arena. And he finally found what he wanted to do when
he grows up.    

Phil is an expert in the contingency planning field with over 17 years experience. He has proven success in the design, development and implementation of enterprise continuity programs and managing large teams of continuity planners. Phil has held leadership positions at two Fortune 500 companies. He was a lead strategist in the design and implementation of the Y2K program for Option One Mortgage, H&R Block’s mortgage subsidiary. Phil also held the position of Director of Enterprise Business Continuity Planning for Safeco Corporation, a financial services leader.

He has a reputation for highly effective innovative solutions within his field by overcoming some of our industry’s biggest problems.  

Phil is a leading advocate in the business continuity community. He has served on numerous chapter boards and on the national board for the Association for Contingency Planners (ACP). He often speaks at national and local conferences with the highest of ratings. Planners can relate to Phil, he has walked in their shoes.  

It’s no secret that Phil is gifted in the design and development of training courses. His first presentation was in May of 1980. He has designed and developed hundreds of training presentations since then and continues to this day to work occasionally with the development team. Phil has designed and developed some of the most powerful and effective continuity training for some of the largest companies in America.

Phil is currently President and Founder of The Center for Continuity Leadership.
